Father's Day 2015

Joanne had a lovely Father's day spending time with her family.
She enjoyed some "spa" time, which included foot massages from her sons and a manicure from her granddaughters.  :)

Steady progress...

Joanne enjoyed meeting and working with her new physical therapist.
She continues to make steady progress. Recently she worked on getting in and out of her bed, scooting around and steering her wheelchair with her left hand, and trying to walk with help.
She was delighted to get her hair cut and is happy to have her "bangs back!"
She was also excited to have a visit from one of her granddogs. :)
Practice makes perfect!:)
Happy to have her bangs back!:)
Waiting patiently for Tutu to return.
Goodnight Tutu!:)

Grateful for friends....

Thank you to each of you who have come to visit Joanne over the past month.   She has had visits from friends in her ward, as well as visits from family members, and even friends from Hawaii.
Today, Joanne received an early birthday gift (a beautiful photo book) from her dear friend Charlene. Charlene and Joanne met in Hawaii over 40 years ago, and shortly after became dear friends.
Thank you Charlene, for the beautiful photo book and for your sweet
gift of friendship to Joanne.
Also, many thanks to Joanne's neighbors
and ward members who come
to visit with her and lookout for her home.

Big move tomorrow! :)

Joanne continues to make steady progress. She is getting more feeling in her right side. Especially in her legs. She enjoys doing simple crossword puzzles and welcomes you to help her when you visit because writing with her left hand is still challenging.
She is excited to be moving closer to her home. Starting tomorrow morning she will be at Avalon nursing home in Bountiful.

Joanne would like to thank the kind couple who visited her and dropped off the above quote by President Hinckley. It was just the boost she needed at the time. Mahalo!

CUTEST wheelchair pusher out there!

Joanne's great granddaughter pushing her back to her room. Such a cutie! :)

Room change...

Joanne has changed rooms, she is now in room 2641. She has a new roommate and continues to make steady progress. Her physical therapist will be making a visit to her home next week to see what her home surroundings are like. This visit is made with the hope that Joanne will be returning to her own home soon.
The staff at the U have mentioned that most patients recover faster once they are in their own home environment.
We will keep you posted as to when this will happen, it may be another week or so.
Until then...please know Joanne appreciates your prayers, visits, phone calls, cards, flowers, and well wishes.
Mahalo nui loa!

Making progress 😄
